Amazon, on Wednesday, announced the Fire Phone to fulfill the retailer’s dream. The Fire phone is a product of four years of research and development, offers Amazon fans the to live in an Amazon-themed world.
The Fire’s product recognition feature, Firefly, “is potentially a real threat to bricks and mortar retailers,” said Rebecca Lieb, an analyst with the Altimeter Group. “Scan a product or listen to music, and you’re delivered straight to the page on Amazon on which you can purchase it. Impulse shopping just went to a new level.”
Customers can now order the device, which will be start shipping from 25th Jul. According to the manufacturer, the Fire Phone sports 4.7″ HD LCD display, with 1280 x 720 resolution at 315 PPI, 590 cd/m2 brightness (typical), 1000:1 contrast ratio (typical).
The fire smartphone boasts a 2.2GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Measuring the cellphone, its dimension is 5.5″ x 2.6″ x 0.35″ (139.2mm x 66.5mm x 8.9mm), weighs 5.64 ounces (160 grams).
The fire-phone houses a 13 MP rear-facing camera, multi-frame HDR, autofocus, optical image stabilization, f/2.0 5-element wide aperture lens, LED flash; opposite side 2.1 MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
The fire runs on Fire OS 3.5.0 out-of-the-box; has two variant storage models: 32 GB or 64 GB. The device offers free cloud storage for all Amazon content and photos taken with a Fire phone.
The fire phone, backed by a powerful battery of 2400mAh, features talk time up to 22 hours or standby time up to 285 hours. Once the fully charged device can provide video playback up to 11 hours or audio playback up to 65 hours.
1080p HD video recording at 30 fps (front- and rear-facing cameras) featured fire phone, comes with dual stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus audio processing.
