Alcatel Onetouch has today announced the availability of their newest affordable LTE smartphone, the POP Astro. It is available at T-Mobile stores and online for $0 down, and $6.24 per month over 24 months ($149.76 MSRP).
The Alcatel Onetouch Pop Astro is powered by a MediaTek MTK6732 Quad-Core 1.5 GHz processor – the first of its kind in North America. The LTE smartphone is also VoLTE compatible as well as Wi-Fi calling ready. It features a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) display.
The Onetouch Pop Astro runs Android KitKat 4.4 OS and features 4G LTE Cat 4 (B2/4/12). It houses a 5MP fixed focus main camera and also a VGA front-facing shooter for video calling. It is equipped with 1GB of RAM and 4GB built-in storage is further expandable up to 32GB with MicroSD.
Alcatel Onetouch Pop Astro is fueled by a 2000mAH battery, that is rated for deliver up to 8 hours of talk time and 250 hours of standby time. It measures 132.75 x 65.4 x 9.95mm (5.23 x 2.57 x .39 inches) and weight is 145g / 5.11 oz.
In terms of connectivity options, Alcatel Onetouch Pop Astro include Bluetooth Smart v4.0, WiFi, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, micro-USB, micro-USB, FM radio and GPS with A-GPS. It also supports proximity, ambient light, gravity and e-compass sensors.
