Alcatel has introduced a new tablet, the One Touch Hero 8, with the One Touch Hero 2 smartphone in IFA 2014 event. It may go on sale this September in select markets; however, the company has not yet revealed its pricing.
Alcatel One Touch Hero 8 features an 8-inch full HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) touchscreen screen display powered by a MediaTek MT8392 Octa-Core processor. The tab has LTE support, which is powered by an MT6290 chipset. The slate is running on Android 4.4 (Kitkat) OS.
The One Touch Hero 8 houses a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling and selfie. It also supports MagicFlip LED and Sidekick 2 companion device, which is similar to the One Touch Hero 2 phablet.
The tab comes with 2GB of RAM, and further, it has 2GB RAM, 16 GB / 32 GB / 64 GB internal memory variant models, which has an expandable slot to expand the built-in memory with microSD. The handset runs on Android 4.4 (Kitkat) OS on 209 x 122 x 7.3mm dimensions, and the Alcatel One Touch Hero 8 weighs 310 gm.
In terms of connectivity options, the Alcatel One Touch Hero 8 includes 4G LTE, 3G, HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC (Optional). A 4060mAh battery also backs it.
