In MWC (Mobile World Congress), Barcelona, on 25 February 2014, Alcatel Onetouch announced the ULC (Ultra-Low-Cost) Pixi 7 tablet, a WiFi-only tablet at a great price point that makes no compromise on quality. The device is available with a tag price of 79 euros; according to Indian currency, it will be only Rs 6384.
According to the press release of Alcatel Onetouch, at 9.9 mm thin and weighing only 285 grams, the dimension is 192 x 110 x 9.95mm. PIXI 7 is one of the most delicate and lightest 7-inch tablets; along with useful apps, infrared port, and Miracast technology, it makes controlling and sharing content to TVs easy.
PIXI 7 heart is built of Mediatek MTK 8117 Chipset, alongside Triple-Core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 4GB ROM + 512 MB (for EMEA) or 8GB ROM + 1GB of memory (for LATAM). The handset internal storage capacity can be expanded up to 32 GB via an external SD card.
The Pixi 7 sports a 7-inch display, alongside 960 x 540 pixels of resolution and a TFT 16M color display.
Designed to be compact and light, ALCATEL ONETOUCH PIXI 7 weighs only 285 grams, specifications that make it one of the most lightweight 7-inch ULC tablets on the market. It is available in two back colors, Bluish Black and Gun Gray.
Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 7 is equipped with a front 0.3 MP camera for video calls and with the same capacity as 0.3 MP rear cameras. Photos can be quickly uploaded to social networks thanks to the built-in high-speed Wi-Fi.
The Pixi 7 runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS out of the box. This latest Android OS delivers optimized memory and touchscreen functionality, boosted voice call quality, redesigned Quick-office and E-mail, and a new emoticon keyboard.
PIXI 7 is also an ideal TV companion, an Infrared port transforms it into a universal remote control for your TV, and Miracast allows you to share content to a TV.
According to the official website of Alcatel, a complete set of optional accessories is available for the ALCATEL ONETOUCH PIXI 7 (based on regional availability), including Color Skins, Folio Cases, and Bumper Cases. ALCATEL ONETOUCH PIXI 7 is available from July in EMEA at an indicative price of 79 euros.
The Pixi 7 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n standards, boasts a 2840 mAh powerful battery. Bluetooth 4.0, and Built-in audio chip, 1080P playback are other features of this tablet.
